Australia has a variety of cultures and nationalities, and Brisbane, the biggest city in Queensland is one of the cities which represent it well. To support that, you can find all the different kinds of food to enjoy and the Eat Street market is one of the best places to experience such fun and enjoyable moments with your eyes, ears, nose and mouth. Greek, Chinese, Mexican, Indian, Brazilian, Australian and many other kinds of cuisines and desserts will tempt your eyes and nose, while a band is playing cheerful songs to please your ears. Once you pick your favorite dish for the day, all you should do is to sit and slowly taste your meal. It opens 4-10pm on Fridays and Saturdays only, but you won't know it is night since there are lamps everywhere to shine the place brightly and cheerfully.
2. Southbank
South Bank is such a wonderful place to visit during weekends or after work to refresh your mind. It has big lagoons and the big Ferris Wheel to enjoy with friends and family. There is also a kids' pool, so you can see many parents playing with their kids in it, which is quite a lovely scene to watch under the beautiful sunlight. Also, there are people doing yoga on the grass and you can do a little bush walk to feel the nature and see water dragons if you're lucky. Southbank is pretty big and you can find a lot of little parks as well as BBQ places. After having a lovely time here, you can search for the restaurants to fill your empty stomach on a long restaurant street just behind it.
3. Museum, Art gallery & State Library
I personally think these are the best places in Brisbane for me, and they are located in the Cultural Centre, Southbank. There are always interesting exhibitions in the Art gallery for updating your cultural taste, giving yourself a quiet moment to reorganize your thoughts, and meeting new creative ideas. The Queensland state library is a big, modern building with a great atmosphere to read books or study. Also, the Museum is full of adventures and makes you go back to your childhood while watching all those skeletons of dinosaurs and stuffed traditional animals and birds of Australia.
4. Sunnybank
There are a lot of Asian restaurants (not all of them) and dessert cafes you could enjoy in Sunnybank. Take away milk tea which is as big as your face, try Vietnamese rice noodles which are actually really good, or visit French restaurants with wonderful desserts. Also, you want to keep in mind Korean ice flakes dessert cafe with various flavors, which will melt as soon as you put it in your mouth, or you could try Chinese restaurants with real Chinese traditional cuisine. Mouth watering already? Your next dinner out must be here!
5. Kangaroo Point
There are not only elegant things to enjoy in Brisbane, but also WILD activities for your body! Have you ever tried rock climbing or abseiling? What about paddle boarding or kayaking? At Kangaroo point, you can try them all! Choose what you want and book before facing these cool activities, since activities' time table could be overlapped. Whenever you feel like your body needs some great exercise, don't hesitate visiting Kangaroo Point!
6. Story Bridge Climb
In Brisbane city, there is a Story Bridge shining purple at night. You can see this bridge even from the lookout far away. But, how cool would it be if you actually climb on that bridge? Wear specially designed safety equipment and the instructor will guide you to the top of the bridge. You will see Brisbane under your feet, which will look exactly like little Lego art. Feel the air up there and take a fantastic picture to capture another wonderful memory in Brissy.
7. Night view of Brisbane River and Citycat
The Citycat is one of the proudly presented features in Brisbane. At night, city views along the Brisbane river is just amazing and it makes you feel romantic, and the citycat will make the feeling stronger. It will allow you to feel those backgrounds shining with all the colours are just for you. Brisbane has nice weather all year, so it is just the right city to enjoy the ferry. You can check out the timetable and citycat stops on the internet...
8. Mt. Cootha
Mt. Cootha is well known for its lookout. You can see the view of Brisbane at some places, but here is the most popular place to visit and fill your lungs with fresh mountain air. There are some restaurants on top to have a special dinner with your lovers or family. I recommend you to bring some friends and take a group selfie with the Brisbane backdrop which will get a lot of likes on your social channels.
