10 things you must do before you can say you have been to Cairns
Cairns is one of the most popular travel destinations for foreign tourists because of its tropical climate and the beautiful reef. Besides the spectacular tourist spots, there are 10 things that need to be done, otherwise you can’t say you have been to Cairns!
1. Swimming in The Lagoon
The Lagoon is the heart of Cairns City. Though there are beaches is in the suburbs , you have a lagoon to chill out in the hot afternoons in the city!
2. Dancing Aqua Zumba
The Cairns lifestyle is not only healthy but also family orientated! Just jump in to the water with everybody! When the music is on, dance like a Latino and laugh out loud together!
3. Jogging along the Esplanade
The Esplanade path is one of the best I have ever seen! Thanks to the sport-friendly city, people of all ages come out in early morning to enjoy jogging and cycling along the sea. Why do the people in the city seem so young and happy? With exercising, your heart never grows old.
4. Crocodile Feeding Show
You might have seen a crocodile in the zoo sleeping, but the crocodiles in Cairns are way more energetic (which may be good and bad)! Get on a boat , the guide will use chickens to flirt with the crocodiles. The crocodile will open his BIG ,POWERFUL jaw right in front of you! Who is next to be swallowed?
5. Swimming like a little mermaid on the Reef
Just going to the reef doesn’t count! You need to swim like a little mermaid (or mermaid’s father lol!). There is no need to dye your hair red, the only thing you need to do is sing out loud the song “Under the Sea”. Swim like you have a fishtail, looking for Sebastian, forgetting about what happened up there in the real world and enjoying life with all your new fish friends!
“Listen to me. The human world, it’s a mess. Life under the sea is better than anything they got up there….”
6. Having an ice cream barefoot on the street
Take off your shoes and reward yourself with an ice cream. Slowdown your pace of life in Cairns, enjoy the moment :)
7. Shopping for fresh tropical fruit in Rusty Markets
Cairns is all about healthy outdoor activities! Do well and Eat well. Come to Rusty Markets and get a chance to talk to local farmers. They will make you taste the juiciest, fattest mangoes ever in your life!
8. Get a massage in the Night Markets
While other stores are closing, the night market just starts to ROCK! In the night markets, you could find the cheapest souvenirs and exotic gifts to bring home! Besides the shops, you could also get a massage after a big day!
9. Dancing on the table at the Woolshed
Well, after the healthy life style, it is time to go wild! Go to the Woolshed and dance on the table with everybody! Scream and shout and let it all out! You need to be here!
10. Take a ride with Padi Cab
Don’t drink and drive! After a typical wild cairns party, the best choice to get home is with a Padi Cab. Friendly young riders could make you laugh even more on the way back!
After these 10 little important things, you can shout out proudly “I HAVE BEEN TO CAIRNS!”
