There is a vibrant education sector in Mackay including Central Queensland University, James Cook University, and numerous well known educational institutions. The Mackay International Education and Training Consortium (Edmac) provides fully integrated study packages for select export markets.  They also provide opportunities and services for International students including study tours, primary, secondary, and tertiary studies.

Mackay is also home to the new James Cook University Mackay Education and Research Centre.  The prestigious Health and Medical faculty now offers a larger range of courses, and will give you a strong foothold in one of the world’s oldest demand professions.
